‘Deeply saddened’ Mukesh speaks out

New Delhi: Mukesh Ambani is "saddened'' and his younger brother Anil Ambani is "pained'' by the ongoing tussle between them over the supply of gas from the K G Basin and yet they soldier on with their fight that's fast reaching epic proportions.
Mukesh Ambani broke his silence on the gas supply dispute with Anil on Friday, saying he was "profoundly saddened'' by personal comments made against him by his younger brother. In response, Anil said,
"I am pained that my respected elder brother's leadership RIL is still doing everything in its power to renege on its binding commitment.''
In a statement, RIL or its chairman Mukesh Ambani had not responded to Anil's volley of charges in public out of respect for the Supreme Court which
is adjudicating on the matter. Anil's ADAG too had similar observations about "RIL's utter disrespect'' for the judiciary because it hasn't implemented the Bombay HC order. RIL is showing disregard for judiciary: RNRL
New Delhi: Anil Ambani's Reliance Natural Resources (RNRL) on Friday reacted to a statement issued by Reliance Industries saying the Mukesh Ambani-led company has shown "disregard for the judiciary'' by refusing to obey the Bombay high court order and was "trying to renege on its commitment in violation of Dhirubhai's principles''.
In response to Mukesh's remarks, the RNRL release quoted Anil as saying, "I am pained that under my respected elder brother's leadership, RIL is still doing everything in its power to renege on its binding commitment to supply gas to us. This is so contrary to the fundamental values of trust and integrity that my visionary father, Dhirubhai Ambani, stood for, and on the basis of which he founded Reliance. Whatever be the reason and I have no idea what it is corporate greed, personal vendetta, misguided advise from the 3Cs—chelas, chamchas and cronies—it is unfortunate... and deeply, deeply distressing to me at a very personal and emotional level.''
"We have the highest respect for the Supreme Court and our every action will always preserve its dignity and honour. RIL's utter disrespect and disregard, on the other hand, for the judiciary is visible in its refusal to even implement the Bombay high court's judgment to enter into a bankable gas supply agreement within 30 days even though that judgment has not been stayed by a superior court,'' RNRL said in statement after RIL broke its silence on the issue.
