WHAT'S UP
Tata Industries, it seems, is in no hurry to fill the managing director's position that was vacated by Kishor Chaukar on August 1. Currently, the Tata Group's investment company is managed by two executive directors — K R S Jamwal and R R Bhinge. It appears that until group chairman-designate Cyrus Mistry takes complete charge of the soda ash-to-software conglomerate in December, no major changes are expected to take place in the company. Interestingly, the MD's post at Tata Motors remained vacant for a good 11 years between 1994 and 2005.

Jaggi set to replace Baijal at helm of Everstone Capital
Private equity biggie Everstone Capital is set to see a change at the top. Shishir Baijal, partner in charge of the firm's real estate investment and operations for the last seven years, is said to be in the exit mode. Rajesh Jaggi, managing director of Peninsula Land, is expected to succeed Baijal. An alumnus of Boston's Babson business school, Jaggi, 43, has been in the realty business for over 12 years. Baijal is learnt to be joining international property consultancy Knight Frank.
